As much of gardens of the south, Gourdon has its sundial.
The instrument, located at the center of the Garden of the Apothecary, with the characteristic to be oblique, recalling in that celebrates it sundial of Chartres, held by an angel with an angle of the Cathedral.
Angelica, ancolies, balsamine and consound, melissa, mints and pinks old, sage and tanaisy… It is many simple in question here, i.e. of medicinal plants of use at the Average Age. They are gathered against the frontage of the Castle exposed to midday, behind the boxwood edges.
These boxwood edges deploy a particularly original layout which follows the drawing of Greek, inspired of the ancient mosaics. They are the work of the landscape designer Tobie Loup of Viane which composed, in 1972, the garden of the Apothecary, as well as the park located at the foot of the Terraces of traditional time.
