The chapel

With the origin the chapel was not that of the castle. It was with the 1°étage until 1793, time when Gourdonnais, taking by storm the castle, demolished the chapel of the 1° stage. It is thus later that one installed the chapel in this room, by using the old dining room castle. A room which appears astonishing because it has a chimney and communicates directly with the living room.

In this chapel of the remarkable parts, the triptych of Barendt Van Orley.
It is a splendid work from all points of view, the Annunciation on the table of left, in the center the Worship of the Magi and on the right the Circumcision.

One finds at the same time the spirit of primitive Flemish, the attitude of the virgins and the symbolism of the scenes, with at the same time the multiplicity of the subjects and the landscapes which point out a little Van Eyck and Memling.
