Exceptional sources, a presentation very avant-gardist for a museum. Works are composed within this architecture mainly sarrazino-of Provence of XVIIe.

One calls commonly Ruhlmann the "Reisener of the XXe century", the Ruhlmann Continuation is entirely furnished with ebony of Macassar, ivories, of silver plated bronzes, gilded, of red scale of tortoise, shagreen, parchment, Hermès leather of time, alabaster…

RUHLMANN forever practised itself the trade of cabinetmaker, but it conceived each one of its pieces of furniture and in personally followed the development and manufacture. Drawn of a sure feature, each project was subjected to the workshop of drawing, which gradually developed it.

Working with the most famous architects of its time, RUHLMANN receives many government orders. It designs interior decorations and pieces of furniture for the Elysée palace, the presidency of the French National Assembly, and, of course, for innumerable private residences. These pieces of furniture are often indicated by the name of the customers for whom they were carried out.

Realized for a guest room in the palate of the Maharajah d' Indore, the bed Tardieu, thus called because of its chrome mounting taking again Tardieu Bureau, expresses all the sumptuousness and the creativity of the artist.

At the end of the Twenties, the geometrical and stripped forms pieces of furniture are accentuated.

Carried out about 1930, an armchair of tended leather office, swivelling on piétement chrome, evokes the moulded seats of post-war period. The functional fitting of the pieces of furniture of this time is often very thorough. Thus in the office of the President of the Tardieu Council built-in all kinds of accessories are: telephone, luminary, bars foot-warmer, control board for lighting, the opening of the doors and the shutters, inter alia.
